Foggy Notions

a poet’s journey

In Search Of New Talent

I love originality.

It’s a rare find these days. Most people haven’t found their own voice yet, so they sing familiar cover songs that others have already had success with.

Adam Grant and Simon Sinek here, Oprah and Michelle Obama there. One repost after another of the same playlist.

I appreciate the well known melodies, and I often sing along with them, but I’m always on the hunt for the new artist.

That’s always been my theme. I listen for the fresh new sound that no one else can really ever copy well.

It’s a challenge for me as I write each day to be as authentic as I can be, piecing together words that will have meaning for someone, and will ring true to my original voice.

Work hard to find your voice. That’s what all of us long to hear.
