What I’m learning about writing is that it must be its own reward.
Many today are rushing to write *their* book. To tell *their* story.
Well, I would say, keep writing and watch what transpires. If you follow where the alphabet takes you, it will begin to tell a story of its own. That’s the story you want to write and others may be interested in reading.
A book is only a fraction of what a writer learns as they set out to write one. And all too often, after listening to their readers responses, they immediately want to edit a number of chapters.
If you are a writer, the book is not the goal. It’s the learning, and nothing else.
